Divorce can be tough. It’s not just about the legal battles, but the emotional strain and the financial stress it puts on everyone involved. Recognizing this, two forward-thinking individuals, Richard Perque and Reagan Charleston Thomas, decided it was time for a change. Together, they created DivorcePlus, a company dedicated to simplifying the divorce process and making it more accessible.

Richard Perque

Richard is a well-known attorney in New Orleans, Louisiana, who established a career influenced by his family’s legal background. After graduating with a J.D. from Loyola University New Orleans School of Law and spending time at the University of Paris IV, Richard founded his own firm.  This practice spans areas including family law, civil rights, and personal injury.

Over the years, Richard has been actively involved in civil rights through his service as commissioner on both the Louisiana Commission on Human Rights and the Human Relations Commission for New Orleans. In 2022, he was appointed Judge Pro Tempore for the Civil District Courts for the Parish of Orleans.

His professional achievements have earned him recognition such as the AV® Preeminent™ Peer Rating and inclusion in several lists of top lawyers. His legal practice extends across Louisiana, Texas, and Massachusetts, and he is authorized to practice before the U.S. Supreme Court. Beyond his legal practice, Richard continues his work as a board member for educational and civil rights organizations.

With almost two decades of family law experience, as an attorney and Judge, he has seen up close how draining traditional divorces can be. He’s always believed there had to be a better way to handle this delicate matter—a way that’s fairer and less taxing, which led him to the idea behind DivorcePlus.

Reagan Charleston Thomas

Reagan is known for her roles as a television personality, jewelry designer, and lawyer. Born in Covington, Louisiana, Reagan grew up immersed in the unique cultural heritage of New Orleans. She gained fame through her appearance on the reality TV show “Southern Charm New Orleans,” which highlights the lives of several New Orleans socialites. Reagan’s background in law and her educational pursuits include a degree from Louisiana State University and a law degree from Loyola University New Orleans College of Law, where she graduated Magna Cum Laude and was a published Law Review Member. Reagan’s legal work has focused on representing victims of crime in civil cases. Besides her TV and legal career, she designs jewelry that reflects the architectural beauty of New Orleans, blending traditional and contemporary styles. Reagan is active in community work, focusing on cultural preservation and education in her home state.

Reagan’s personal life has attracted public attention, notably her marriages and subsequent divorces, which were featured on “Southern Charm New Orleans” and covered in national publications like People, Brides, Page Six, and Daily Mail.  She was first married to a former professional football player for the New Orleans Saints. Their marriage, its challenges, and eventual dissolution were highlighted on the show, pulling back the curtains on their efforts to manage their relationship amicably post-divorce. After her divorce, Reagan married Reece Thomas and started a family, a change that brought viewer interest and sparked discussions on relationship dynamics and personal transitions.  In 2022, Reagan filed for divorce from Reece which was finalized in 2023.

The idea for DivorcePlus sparked during a conversation in 2022 between Richard and Reagan, about Reagan’s own tumultuous divorce, and Richard’s experience in family law.  Over the next year, they worked together to develop a web-based platform that would bring divorce professionals into people’s homes at critical moments when they most need it.  DivorcePlus is the product of that long journey.  Using their personal and professional experiences, Richard and Reagan created a one-of-a-kind platform that allows people to find divorce information and schedule 24-hour, round the clock virtual appointments with professionals.  Think of it like urgent care for divorce but on an on-demand uber like platform.

Since launching, DivorcePlus has received incredible feedback. Users find the platform easy to navigate and comprehensive. It’s clear that Richard and Reagan have started something special that really makes a difference in people’s lives.

Richard and Reagan are not stopping here. They plan to expand DivorcePlus to more areas, adding more languages and adapting to different legal systems. They also want to integrate their service with legal and coaching networks to provide even more seamless support.

They are changing the way we think about and handle divorces. DivorcePlus reflects their commitment to easing a difficult process with empathy and innovation. As they continue to expand their services, their company is quickly becoming a vital resource for anyone going through a divorce.
